Aireen Omar is new AirAsia CEO for Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia telah melantik Aireen Omar sebagai Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif yang baru (CEO) yang beroperasi di Malaysia.
Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif kumpulan AirAsia, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes berkata Aireen telah berkhidmat dengan AirAsia selama enam tahun.
Reuters pula melaporkan bahawa sebelum pelantikan itu, Aireen adalah ketua kewangan korporat serantau AirAsia dan perbendaharaan. Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif (CEO)

AirAsia Malaysia Bhd. berkata pada hari Isnin telah melantik Aireen Omar untuk mengetuai operasi tempatan sebagai pengasas terbesar bajet Asia pembawa Fernandes bergerak ke Indonesia untuk menyelia rancangan pengembangan serantau.
REUTERS / Bazuki Muhammad Dia akan mengambil alih jawatan baru pada 1 Julai dan melaporkan terus kepada Fernandes yang mengesahkan beliau telah berpindah ke Jakarta.
"Semasa krisis kredit, Aireen disimpan AirAsia di hadapan keluk," AirAsia bersama pengasas Kamarudin Meranun kepada pemberita di ibu pejabat di Kuala Lumpur International Airport penerbangan tambang murah di Sepang.
"Walaupun syarikat-syarikat lain jatuh ke dalam masalah mendapatkan pada mana-mana semua pembiayaan, Aireen dapat untuk mendapatkan pembiayaan pada kadar yang sangat kompetitif selama dua tahun untuk pembelian pesawat untuk AirAsia."
Bernama melaporkan bahawa Aireen Omar berhasrat untuk mengekalkan 60 peratus bahagian pasaran domestik.
"Saya tahu saya mempunyai tanggungjawab yang besar untuk digalas dan saya yakin untuk memastikan sasaran hidup. Semua orang boleh terbang bukan hanya sekarang tapi selama-lamanya.
"Kami mempunyai 60 satu peratus domestik dan 40 peratus bahagian pasaran antarabangsa. Kami berhasrat untuk mengekalkan dan berkembang," katanya kepada pemberita selepas dinamakan sebagai ketua pegawai eksekutif AirAsia untuk operasi Malaysia. Aireen berkata AirAsia Malaysia akan terus menjadi kreatif dan inovatif.
Kata beliau untuk mengekalkan peneraju di pasaran, disiplin kos dan hasil yang semakin meningkat akan menjadi antara cabaran utama bagi beliau yang menyandang jawatan itu.

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia has appointed Aireen Omar as its new chief executive officer (CEO) of Malaysian operations.
AirAsia group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said Aireen has been with AirAsia for the past six years.
Reuters meanwhile reported that prior to the appointment, Aireen was AirAsia's regional head of coporate finance and treasury.

She will assume her new post on July 1 and report directly to Fernandes who confirmed he was moving to Jakarta.
"During the credit crisis, Aireen kept AirAsia ahead of the curve," AirAsia co-founder Kamarudin Meranun told reporters at the budget carrier's headquarters at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang.
"While other companies fell into trouble securing any financing at all, Aireen was able to lock up financing at very competitive rates for two years for the purchase of aircraft for Airasia."
Bernama reported that Aireen Omar aims to maintain 60 per cent domestic market share.
"I know I have a big shoe to fill and I am confident to keep the target alive. Everyone can fly not only now but forever.
"We have 60 per cent domestic and 40 per cent international market share. We intend to maintain that and grow it," she told reporters after being named AirAsia's chief executive officer for Malaysia's operations.
Aireen said AirAsia Malaysia would continue to be creative and innovative.
She said maintaining market leadership, cost discipline and increasing revenue would be among the main challenges helming the post.
